Building Bridges for the Health, Rights and Resilience of all Women and Girls

Across the world, the lives of women and girls are shaped by forces that extend far beyond healthcare alone. Safety, education, economic opportunity, environmental conditions and digital realities all influence whether women and girls can live healthy, independent and fulfilling lives.

At the Soroptimist International Convention 2027 in Prague, Soroptimists from across the globe will come together to explore one powerful question:

How can we strengthen the health, rights and resilience of women and girls worldwide?

Every day, Soroptimists address these challenges through projects, advocacy and partnerships in their communities. Our work reflects the organisation’s five pillars: educating women and girls, advancing gender equality, empowering women economically, fostering access to healthcare and a sustainable environment, and working to end violence against women.

Yet the realities women face differ greatly from region to region — from climate pressures and water insecurity to conflict, violence, economic inequality and the rapid transformation of our digital world.

The Convention in Prague will bring these diverse perspectives together. Through inspiring speakers, dynamic discussions and shared learning, Soroptimists will exchange ideas, discover innovative solutions and strengthen the global impact of our organisation.

The Soroptimist Bridge

In Prague — a city known for its historic bridges — Soroptimists will come together to build bridges between knowledge, experience and action.

The work of Soroptimists around the world is guided by five pillars that form the foundation of our global movement and create positive change in communities across the world.

  • Educating women and girls
    Ending violence against women
    Empowering women economically
Fostering access to healthcare and a sustainable environment
    Advancing gender equality

Convention Themes – Crossing the Bridge to the Future, Together

The Convention programme will explore three interconnected themes that reflect the realities women and girls face today and the opportunities that lie ahead.

Women’s and Girls’ Health & Wellbeing

Health extends far beyond medical care. It includes physical, mental and emotional wellbeing throughout the life course. Discussions will explore access to health services, mental wellbeing, gender bias in medical research, ageing, caregiving and the impact of environmental conditions on health.

Women’s and Girls’ Rights & Safety

Safety, dignity and legal protection are essential foundations for wellbeing. Interactive sessions will address violence against women, legal rights, trafficking, conflict situations and digital safety.

Resilience for the Future

Women’s resilience grows through education, economic opportunities, environmental sustainability and access to innovation and technology. Discussions will explore how women and girls can thrive in a rapidly changing world shaped by climate change and digital transformation.

Together, these themes reflect Soroptimist International’s mission to Educate, Empower and Enable women and girls worldwide.
